Editing Tips

Greetings Lightningstormgirl.

I noticed you have been editing the fish pages and I would like to give you a tip. To add images to the wiki you have to upload them to the wiki first. Upload images (here. Then, you can simply put the code you recieve in brackets and the image will appear. Example:

I upload a image called File:Nafets Avatar AE Style.png . Now I put that in brackets [[File:Nafets Avatar AE Style.png]] and the image appears.

Nafets Avatar AE Style.png

Instead of linking to photobucket or some outside site, please use this method. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Thanks

Thanks! I've been trying that with different formats but it hasn't been working for me but I'll give it another go!

I believe the problem you are having is that the image does not appear when you put it in the template. that is because up to this point AE has not had collectible items with images other than the little baggy thing. Until we build a template for the fish, just add the image at the bottom of the page. It won't be pretty but it will have to do.
Also, to keep everything organized, please repond on my talk page by by going here to send me the message. It makes things much easier :)

When your posting the fish pictures please add this "|frame|right"

i.e. [[File:hagfish.png|frame|right]]

OK thanks I'll do that!
Actually, I've noticed that when I try that, sometimes part of the picture gets cut off. Do you know of a way to fix that?

I don't fully understand what you mean, but if you mean the box then that's just what happens and not to worry about it. --Isa My talk 13:29, 19 February 2012 (EST)

Well, I went to the page for Pillfin where that had been done and there was indeed the box around the image, but part of the image was under the navigation buttons on the left of the page.
