Cutscenes played in the Frozen Northlands (not including Frostval cutscenes).

Battle at Mount Frost

After defeating the Armored Frost Dragon, the hero breaks into the ice cave behind it.

• Voice: Breaking in is a crime, you know. And not to mention, vandalizing private property... tisk, tisk. Have you no manners?

• Hero: Who is there? Show yourself!

• Voice: Show myself? Just open your eyes, Human... I am everywhere. The snow beneath your feet... the icicles above your head... the frigid breeze wrapping around your nearly frozen body...

• Hero: Listen, creepy voice from the shadows, I don't have time for your silly metaphors. I am looking for someone by the name of Aisha...

Queen Aisha appears.

• Aisha: That's Queen Aisha to you! How dare you use my name so freely?

• Hero: Well I'm glad you finally came out of your cubby hole. It's about time.

• Aisha: Likewise. I was starting to wonder how long it would take you to reach me. My people have been talking about you ever since you began your climb...

• Hero: Wait, what? What do you mean by "your people"?

• Aisha: Silly Human, do you not listen? My people are the innocent ones that you carelessly cast away. The Wyrms... the Golems... the Dragons... everyone. They are my people... they are part of me... they are my family!

• Hero: Your family, huh? If that's the case, I can't imagine what your in-laws are like... Listen, lady, I've climbed all this way and I'm in no mood for your shenanigans...

The hero points at Aisha.

• Hero: ...I'm cold, I'm cranky, and I could really use a hot cup of cocoa. Can we just get this over with?

• Aisha: I thought you'd never ask.

With one wave of her arm, Aisha calls down an ice laser that sends the hero plummeting back down to the bottom of Mount Frost.

• Adak: I take it things didn't go so well?

• Hero: I... I guess that's the optimistic way of looking at it.

• Adak: Well, what happened?!

• Hero: ...She's too powerful... I'm sorry... She just raised her hand and THRRRUP! Down the mountain I fell... Her strength was incredible... her face was as cold as ice... her eyes showed no mercy... it was like... it was like she wasn't even human!

• Voice: It's because she's not human.

Camera pans over to include Nythera.

• Adak: Who are you?

• Hero: Wait... I think I've seen you before... are you...

• Nythera: That's right. I'm Nythera. The Blue Mage Warlic briefed me on what has been happening to the Frozen Northlands. I decided to come investigate... but I never expected to find you here.

• Hero: Nythera, I-

• Adak: Please, Nythera, please help! My village... my people... Queen Aisha is going to freeze it all!

• Nythera: What do you think I'm here for, Villager? The Queen and I have some striking similarities...

Nythera's eyes glow as she smiles.

• Nythera: and I have what some would consider "a plan".

• Hero: I have a bad feeling about her so-called "plan"...

• Adak: What choice do we have left? Nythera, I speak for everyone here: please, we will do whatever it takes to defeat Queen Aisha.

• Nythera: Just the answer I was looking for. I suggest preparing yourselves for the toughest fight of your lives. We attack in one week.

• Hero: Nythera! Wait! When you said "she's not human", what did that mean? What kind of similarities do you "share" with Queen Aisha?

• Nythera: Oh, didn't you know? It's quite simple. I am half dragon and Aisha... She is Queen of the Ice Dragons.

Call Nythera

The hero and Nythera enter Aisha's throne room and look around. Aisha appears.

• Aisha: Well look at that, you're back. And your front. You're both here! I've been expecting you. It appears I have the upper hand, too. I knew you would come barging in if I backed off from that primitive village! Now you are both trapped on my turf.

• Nythera: Hmph.

• Hero: Aisha! Your cold-hearted reign is over! Surrender now, or prepare for your chilly doom!

Aisha laughs.

• Aisha: Did you think of that all by yourself?

• Hero: Uh... well... yea, I thought it was pretty clever given the circumstances...

• Nythera: Queen Aisha, stop this at once. You cannot win. So I don't even see a point to fighting.

Aisha begins powering up.

• Aisha: Well there is only one way to find out for sure.

• Nythera: Here's your chance. Hold her off for as long as you can. I need a few minutes to prepare...

• Hero: WHAT?! Prepare for what?!

Nythera runs off to prepare for her ultimate attack. Aisha summons her drake. Aisha's drake roars.

Chaos Gemerald

Aisha's drake has been defeated, and Aisha is struggling to get up.

• Aisha: You... you...

Aisha gets up and laughs.

• Aisha: You have seen nothing yet!

Weary after having defeated Aisha's drake, the hero is panting. Aisha powers up again, and this time transforms into a dragon. Nythera runs back in and holds out a Chaos Gemerald.

• Hero: Nythera, no you can't-

• Nythera: Hmph. Do not tell me what to do. This is my choice. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good.

Nythera breaks her Chaos Gemerald and transforms into a dragon. She and Aisha fight as they blow their flames at one another. The flames clash together in the fashion of one of those deals where you know that one of the attacks is going to overpower the other. And, of course, Nythera's fire overpowers Aisha's and defeats her, destroying her throne room and tossing the hero out. The hero rushes over to her.

• Hero: That was amazing! The way you faced her and how you were all like-
• Nythera: Leave me alone.
• Hero: Huh? Are you okay?
• Nythera: I need to be left alone for a bit. Please. Just go. Go back to Guwio and let Adak know that he has nothing else to worry about... for now...
• Hero: Nyth-
• Nythera: Go!

The hero leaves. Nythera holds out a sample of Chaos energy.

• Nythera: This... power... it is amazing... but no... no... it's Chaos... it is beyond evil...

Xing & Xang appear.

• Nythera: Who are you two?
• Xing: We are your friends...
• Xang: ...and we are here to guide you on the right path.
• Nythera: Hmph. Really how? And which path would that be?

Xing & Xang laugh.

• Xing & Xang: You already know.

Nythera becomes chaorrupted.

Run Nythera Run

The hero runs over and finds Nythera.

• Hero: Nythera?

• Nythera: ...Hmph. Took you long enough.

• Hero: Wait, what? You were expecting me?

Nythera's eyes glow as she smiles.

• Nythera: Your feeble mind cannot possibly comprehend the marvelous power Chaos awards. Anything I could ever hope for is granted by Chaos. And this includes foresight. Chaos is the strongest force I have ever come to know - and that's saying something considering my history in magic meddling.

• Hero: It's freezing out here, Nythera. And look at how you're dressed! You're just not thinking clearly-

• Nythera: On the contrary. My mind has never been more clear. I have found harmony with Chaos, and Chaos has found harmony with me.

• Hero: Well I'm not going back to the village without you!

• Nythera: Of course you were going to say that.

• Hero: Foresight?

• Nythera: Not this time. You are just too predictable.

• Hero: ...

• Nythera: And we both know what's going to happen next.

Nythera runs off leaving the hero to fight three Chaos Gemralds.

Nythera Embraces Chaos

The hero destroys all three Chaos Gemralds and runs over to Nythera.

• Hero: Nythera! I don't want to have to do this!

• Nythera: Then don't. The choice is your own.

• Hero: Your mind has been chaorrupted! This isn't the right path! I won't let a friend succumb to Chaos!

Once again, Nythera's eyes glow as she smiles.

• Nythera: I become it willingly.

Nythera breaks a Chaos Gemerald and transforms into a dragon.

Fly Away

• Nythera: How... how could you... attack your friend?

• Hero: WHAT! But you ATTACKED me!

• Nythera: Why would I ever attack a friend? That really hurts. And there you are, accusing Chaos of clouding MY judgment. Just who is the confused one here?

• Hero: .....But.....but.....

• Nythera: I guess I cannot blame your ignorance. Chaos makes everything just... so... clear. But now I finally understand! All thanks to you, friend. This petty world cannot harness the supremacy that is Chaos. I was fooling myself to think a physical world could unleash Chaos' true potential. I guess everyone is a little bit ignorant. Hmph. But we learn from our mistakes! Isn't that right?

• Hero: Nythera... please, listen to me... listen to your friend! Chaos is a terrible and horrible thing that-

Nythera starts to glow purple.

• Nythera: ENOUGH! I will not sit by and listen to you badmouth my NEW friend! This world and all her inhabitants will never fully grasp Chaos! The time has come for a new world... a place compromised of pure Chaos where WE can unleash our true Chaotic potential!

Nythera teleports away, leaving behind shards of the Chaos Gemerald she broke.

Into the Void

Upon entering the portal to the Void, the hero falls right on top of a Void Larva.

• Hero & Void Larva: What are you?! YOU CAN TALK?!

• Void Larva: You are not from this realm. Clearly. Let me introduce myself, if you are willing to listen. I am a Void Larva, minion to the Great Void Dragon, and you have... somehow... entered into The Void.

• Hero: ...I am, um, I am a hero from Lore... and um... I'm sorry, it's just... you speak so... eloquently...

• Void Larva: Can creatures from your world not speak?

• Hero: Some can. But... I would have imagined you to growl and snarl... or hiss... or something more ferocious-like...

• Void Larva: Would you like me to be more ferocious? I am sure my brethren would have no problem showing you how ferocious Void Larva can be...

• Hero: no nonononono! I like you just the way you are! A non-attacking monster is a nice change.

• Void Larva: What did you call me?

• Hero: Nothing! Anyway... back to your initial question... I am a hero of Lore who followed my friend into The Void.

• Void Larva: You speak of Nythera the half-dragon mage?

• Hero: Yes! You know her?!

• Void Larva: Not quite. I know of her, and I know why the Great Void Dragon summoned her.

• Hero: Please, tell me everything you know! Where has she gone to? Where can I find her?

• Void Larva: I will explain everything. Let's end this Cutscene so we can discuss this matter. You will have to act quickly if you hope to save your friend

Void Dragon

• Void Dragon: Nythera. It pleases me that you heeded my summon so quickly. You were correct in thinking that The Void could unleash your true Chaotic potential. Chaos is the most powerful thing ever, as you now know. Chaos is a commitment that cannot be broken. Your destiny is right here and now, Nythera. Are you ready to fulfill it?

• Nythera: Yes, Great Void Dragon.

• Void Dragon: Excellent! Now that you have made your own commitment, I too can fulfill my own destiny! Your ultimate sacrifice will allow me to become the most powerful being in not only The Void, but also in the world of Lore!

• Nythera: ...My ultimate sacrifice?

• Void Dragon: Yes Nythera. You must sacrifice yourself to me as you have already done with Chaos.

The Void Dragon roars.

• Void Dragon: And then NOTHING in either realm can stop me!

• Nythera: But... Great Void Dragon... the two of us could team up together and become the most feared duo in the universe!

• Void Dragon: Teaming up with the likes of you would only make me less powerful. You are a weak link, Nythera. You have sacrificed everything to Chaos, and even in doing so, you are still not strong enough. You are committed to your destiny, Nythera. Only ONE dragon can be the greatest. And that dragon is ME.

The Void Dragon attempts to blast away Nythera with a laser beam, but the hero runs in and blocks the attack.

• Hero: STOP!

• Void Dragon: You wish to meet the same fate as Nythera, mortal? She has already given herself to Chaos. You are too late. Her destiny will be fulfilled.

• Hero: No matter how chaorrupted Nythera may seem, the real Nythera is still very much alive! And I won't let ANYONE get in the way of helping my friend!

• Void Dragon: Then your destiny will be fulfilled alongside your friend's!

The Void Dragon attempts to blast away the hero.

Coming Home

Having been defeated, the Void Dragon explodes into Void Splinters. The screen shifts over to the hero and Nythera, once again as a dragon.

• Nythera: Hero... you saved me... even after the way I treated you...

• Hero: Oh, it was nothing, really. This sort of thing happens to me all the time.

• Nythera: Don't be so humble! You risked your life to save me... multiple times... even though I foolishly sided with Chaos. But now I'm afraid it's too late! My destiny has to be fulfilled...

• Hero: Says who? The Void Dragon that I just pwned?

• Nythera: ...

• Hero: Nythera, don't you see? Your destiny cannot be influenced by others if you don't let it! No matter the circumstances, YOU always have a choice as to how your destiny plays out. I had the choice to side with Good or Evil. Just like you had the choice to side with Chaos. But it's never too late to change your path! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. This is YOUR destiny, Nythera. Take matters into your own hands... erm, claws... and do what you feel is right.

• Nythera: I never thought of it like that. Thank you... you truly are a hero in more ways than one. So whaddya say? You wanna get out of here?

• Hero: Oh, I dunno... after all that bonding I did with the cuddly Void Larva... KIDDING! Let's get out of here. This place gives me the creeps.

The hero rides Nythera out of the Void and back to Guwio Village. Nythera detransforms back to her original human form. The villagers appear to greet the hero and Nythera.

• Villagers: Welcome Back, Nythera!

• Nythera: It's good to be home! Now, how about we start repairing Guwio Village?

The scene scrolls over to a portal to the Void in the snow. Xing & Xang appear and put their hands to their mouths in a gleeful manner, as though they seem interested in the portal.
