Parser Functions

Templates Overhaul

I've updated Template:Pet to show a little of what can be done with the ParserFunctions extension. And this is a list of the new functionality I plan to add to each template:

• Fully optional parameters (simple don't show if not set).
• New categories and sub-categories: Member Only, Founder Only, Adventure Coins.
• Display member dragon or adventure coins images when Members=Yes or Coins=Yes respectively.
• Automatically flag articles with no image by conditionally placing into Pages Needing Images category.
• Make ShopImage parameter completely optional and don't show at all if missing.

I will probably do 1-2 templates each weekend. Let me know soon if there are any objections to anything, or if you have any suggestions. But before you make any suggestions, please keep in mind some things I already tried but couldn't do:

• Background images to tables. Al could enable this, but it opens up possible exploits.
• Make the templates more beautiful. Others are welcome to try, but I'm just not an artist when it comes to layout and visuals.

Otherwise there are likely many more opportunities to use the newly installed extension. So any feedback is welcome.

Template Overhaul

Its a GREAT idea to do this, cuz some templates dont have space for some info (the helm one as no Membership Required part,i think). U should do, if u can, a armor template (armor = Banana Suit, Potato Sack, etc.)

I agree, it is a Great Idea. We should also rename the Armor Template (Capes and Helms). Now, how can you do that thing..with the Upgrade Icon..So I could put it in the other templates :D.

It would include the weapons template. However, it doesn't remove your work, but rather enhance what you've already done.

For instance, currently we have to remember to put in the correct NoShopImage.jpg in if there isn't one. By making Image2 optional, we could simply not show the shop image if it doesn't exist (such as for dropped weapons), thereby cleaning up the page. If there is a shop image, then it gets displayed just like it does now.

Same with element, if the user leaves the parameter blank, then we have more options available to us. We could: 1) Not assign it an element category at all, or 2) specifically assign it to a Non-Elemental Weapons category. Then we could finally have a more descriptive category than Category:None Weapons. Otherwise, we would just assign the element category as it does now.

And if you notice the trend here, it usually ends up with just using existing logic if the parameter is being used. My changes mostly effect what happens if existing parameters are not being used, along with some new features. And to be backwards compatible, I'm going to have to keep existing features regardless.

Hope that helps alleviate the concern that your work will be preserved.

Not much more than what I already did with Template:Pet. It already has optional parameters, optional categories, optionally shown images (and includes itself into Pages Needing Images category otherwise), along with member and coins pictures. Personally, I think a template overhaul is a great idea. Most templates could use a touch up. Zakar

Block pages that are done

I thinked about , When a page finally done , block him from beinging edited by normal aqw wiki editors , only to protect from begin spammed. Talk with others SysOp about it.
