Making a clan :/

Well, the process of making a clan isn't the rosy, romantic picture that people like to imagine. It's actually a long, hard process requiring a lot of patience. You start off on your own, having to recruit members for yourself. I suggest creating a clan page on the AE forums to get your name out there, though there are so many names that you're hardly likely to rise above the rest without an absolutely mind-boggling page. Many people don't have the patience nor the time to dual-clan when one clan is a new clan that requires a lot of attention. You have to come up with logos, a name, and a mindset that aren't just decent, but exceptional if you wish to go anywhere and be someone. Daily activity on a clan site with well-set-up forums is a must for success. Once you get 5 active members, you create a wiki page here and go from there. Continuous growth is necessary for survival. If you stagnate, you're done for.

I've never had to experience starting from scratch, since Requiem essentially morphed out of the Alleble Knights. Even then, we had to aggressively rebuild our image in order to get ourselves established. In all this, diplomacy plays an important role. Making allies early on, and lots of them, powerful ones, is important. Drake impressed me because he was able to get his name out there fast and furiously, making himself known to the world. Shadowking took a slightly different approach, building off of the reputation of a Sysop. You don't have the liberty of attaching yourself to a Sysop unless you merge, so you have to put all the effort in yourself. You have to also show that you are dedicated to your clan and your clan first. Multi-clanning with GoD is not a good recipe for your own clan. I had a friend who got up to 13 members with his own clan, but the attention required for him to remain active in GoD essentially sunk his own clan. So put in lots of effort, be active, savvy with your allies, and you will succeed.

Oh, and I saw that you were building a clan... Now, I'd somewhat agree with Blizz, but I'd also say he's dead wrong. Unlike him, I actually did start my clan from scratch, and let me tell you one thing, the beginning is not at all about politics. You want to work on diplomacy and image AFTER your clan is stable. Go public to soon, and you're screwed. You get out-competed. Instead, start with a policy of isolation, so that your members are not discouraged by interacting with larger clans. Image is not at all important, until you want to get alliances, which, to be honest, aren't worth anything. Allies are nothing more than friends. They don't really offer power or support. They can offer advice, but see where I'm getting?

Start your clan off with a stable group of around 10 people, with you as sole leader. It is best to pick 2 people to be 2nd in commands under you. Make sure that all 10 are really top of the line people. Then, grow from there, gathering people of quality. Once you hit 50, you move on to the next stage, and begin recruiting "lessers," or people with a more servile attitude. Once your clan is decently powerful, attack and destroy at least one clan, for morale support. Then, it is safe to join the public. Blizz is a Diplomat, so take his advice on clan relations. He is not, however, a master mind. He knows how to deal with the outside better than anyone else I've seen, but as for the inside... there's still more to learn ;)

I see Liz gave you the GoD approach. It's a good way to build a clan if you're planning on lurking underground for the most part. Really, when you decide to go public should be influenced on how much contact you want with the outside world. Liz is right in one aspect: coming in contact with other clans can lure members away from yours. I guess that's where a strong image helps. Liz says that image only counts for alliances, but 90% of prospective members will take a look at your website layout and your banner. That's one way I keep my clan in business.

To upload pictures, go down to the bottom of the left bar. In the last box, you should find something called "Upload Files". You can only put pictures on the wiki through images on your computer, so make sure what you want to upload is ready. For colors, look around at any clan page that is accessible and contains colors and borderlines. Copy stuff from there. If you really can't find any, PM me on the GoD site and I'll send you what I've got. Good luck with your clan.

Well you could also put borders like what you did in the clan's main page, you could put also some things you want to put in like on HOW to join your clan, HOW to be an alliance, or HOW to be enemies, anything you could on your talk page,

Few Things you Should Know

Well I'll tell ya how to make your clan productive, progressive and a success, I'll give you my tips on how I made my clan I consider a success such as

• Don't make a move undecided, always think what will happen, positively, negatively, but if you got the guts, then Go for it, its your choice

• A clan is not made for the sake of having it, or you only want to have a clan. Clans are made to make yourselves active on AQ, to have FUN in the GAME, to have AIMS, to TEST your leadership, Your UNITY, and usually, to make AQ not a boring game.

• Clan name will be the background of your clan, it will almost describe the clan literally, metaphorically, deeply, and more....

• Clan Aims will be the things to make your clan not a boring one, it will become the MOTIVATION, the INSPIRATION,

• Clan Members, Always know that clan members will be your highlight, if you want your clan PVP mongering, recruit good PVP players, if you want to raise the names of the non-UPGRADED accounts, recruit non members, but the best of all, recruit players who are interested in your clan, who will help you, who will be proud to be in your clan, and not for the sake to be in the clan

• Clan Success Tip, always think positively, make decisions briefly, simply, strive for the best, BETTER than the BEST

hey man, you got the picture, well, just a tip, In my experience, don't give-up, if you get down, show em that you can still do it, don't show em that after you lose, means you die. I made my clan with my own motivations, I made my first clan namely Ultimatum, my first clan that made me teach on how to run a clan. On what I should follow, and how to decide next steps. Don't make your clan a "SHOW-UP", start slowly then if you can make it faster than it was, better.

To include a signature is quite simple. When editing there is a button, the second buton from the right, that when you mouse over it it reads Your signature with timestamp. To insert your personal signature simply press it. This will add in the following combination of symbols without the spaces.

For now, I want to finish this war with Havok on our side, I don't want your new clan be exposed to wars. A new clans must not be exposed to wars only because you hate 'em that was my biggest mistake. As a new clan, learn how to be a clan leader. You better mind about your clan and not others. Focus on it, also get advices from experienced clan leaders, Start from below, and make a move slowly but surely. But if you have the skills to manage your clan surely BUT with thinking, make it into it, its a good practice though. Try reading quotation, NOT love quotations e_e", well your choice. Also search things about philosophies, this things will make you smart I am sure.

If you really want to join the war, well it really is your choice. Think Outcomes, Effects, and why Causes

Thanks for the support, I really doubted why Roe joined Shadow Knights rather leading the Golden Blade Fighters of Lore. If you want to be an experienced leader, continue being a leader, if your clan dies, Make it Again, DONT GIVE UP. And you can get more ideas why your clan died or defeated. As mistakes, you must learn how to correct them, but better avoid it in the first place.

Wiki Groups

Wiki Groups are privilege oriented. Bureaucrats can edit User Rights, Administrators (formerly SysOps) can ban people, protect and delete pages, Clan_Editors can modify protected clan pages... It's stuff like that. Anyway, to join a group, you're going to have to ask Al Gilman, Ze Master of Ze Wiki. But asking isn't everything, there are requirements. For Clan_Editor status, you need a clan with 10 people I think. For HOF_Editor, you need to be a member of the Hall of Fame staff, for Admin and Crat, you need to be an active contributor who helps people and such, etc. So yeah, ask Al for the specifics. It's his Wiki.

Right now, what we really need are War Observers, people to tally the points for each side, to determine which side wins. This is a very time consuming job, in the sense that a war could be called at a moments notice. Are you up for the task? It's going to mean you signing in a bit more often than usual...
