Wow, first of all, thanks for actually posting input into the discussion zone. I'd gotten so used to people just editing it in that it took me a while to notice your comments.


Anyways, the 421 combo does indeed stop prep-strikes delay. This is assuming that you work the timing correctly (prep strike and then an immediate DS). A quick experiment with the skills shows this to be true. I can only guess that lag is responsible for contrary observations.

Second, I will be editing the guide to place a little reminder as to the usefulness of Dragon Slayer's raised attack. I had made such a note in the Berserker section, but in hindsight that's a rather silly place to talk about the values of Dragonslayer >.>


Third, Dragonslayer's improved attack does not make it stronger than Warrior. In such a case as you describe (the ever more common table and chair farming) the damage increase is negligible. In any situation that you don't have time to preform a 421 combo with warrior, that means the battle is only lasting no more than a second or two. At this point any strategic discussion is void, as you can reasonably deduce that the enemy will die at more or less the same moment regardless of the increased 10% damage. Chair and table farming strategy is a matter of pragmatism rather than statistics once 4 or more characters are participating. However, in cases such as farming for wars or quest progression against enemies stronger than tables/chairs, the 421 combo quickly outpaces the 10% auto-attack advantage that Dragonslayer has. This is mostly due to impale being a lackluster skill in any situation outside of future pvp (for targets that distance themselves and the inherent value of random stun in pvp situations). I'll be waiting to edit the guide until stats come out, since I have the suspicion that Dragonslayer's stronger auto-attack will be a much more relevant characteristic after stats come into play, depending on the final system that AE chooses.

Well, I personally quickly press 42 together, then do the 1. This may affect it. I'll try doing 4- then a tiny delay- then 2.

Secondly and thirdly, although it doesn't make much of a difference (warriors seem to do more crits), I still like to use dslayer during farming sessions. I do agree with your point that the 10% may become of more significance when stats are released. However, you should mention that "dslayers do slightly more damage- but until stats are released, it does not have enough significance to overcome the warrior."

Guides

You bring up a valid point, guides right now have little exposure on the wiki. A separate category as well as a link on the left menu should do the trick. What do you think? Al Gilman 02:41, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

It is a change that should rightfully be made, as there is more incentive to write a guide if you know that people will have prominent access to it. Al Gilman 02:45, 1 April 2009 (UTC)


I agree with Al, the guides do need to be implemented. However, they should not be placed within the category they are giving information. Such as the "Class Guides" should not go under "Classes". This way, we keep each category to the point. I would be more than happy to contribute to any or all guides because I believe in bettering a game by bettering its guides. I did not mean to put your "Classes Guide" under deletion, I actually meant to remove the deletion tag and just move it from the classes section. Hope to see a "Guides" section implemented soon. I am in complete support of your suggestion. Your guide has been extremely helpful to me in training and farming, and I believe it and all other guides as useful as this should get more credit and publicity. I think its fine to make a new category and sidebar link. It would benefit our community greatly. By the way, the presentation was nice and clean, the way I like it. Good job. Zakar

@"Class Guide" I went through and switched the class/armor issues that cropped up with the split. I saw something mentioned about damage testing for clawsuit, I've got a lvl 1 mace and rank 10 claw, so I'd be happy to help if there is still some need for that. Socrates 14:22, April 7, 2009 (EST)

Hey Noisiv im a new contirbutor to AQ worlds wiki... I was looking at your guide for classes when i thought that the pirate info. was a little wrong. The mana regeneration is possible if you space them long enough and you use venom kiss and then use the implale (it think its impale) 5 or 6 sec. later its possible to create a 500 dmg. hit no matter wat rank or level you are. - knighthalo123
