Editing Protected Template

Yea I have no problem with it if you want to edit some of the protected stuff. I have made you a sysop so you should be able to edit them now. Al Gilman 21:21, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

reaction

Hello, At first i was a disappointed after all the work i put in the wiki and then only harsh comments. You had a point, but the way you put it.... But thanks for your latter note after checking more of my additions, I will add more dwarf quests and have taken your comment into account.

By the way do you know how to add the page category:HouseItems .

Much appreciated

house items category

I understand how to use the template HouseItems, but I like to go to the category HousItems as I do with going to NPCs or Quests. The only way to go there now is clicking on Category on a certain page and then choosing (the stil red sign) category HouseItems (allthough it is filled with several items). Maybe you can add it???

re:Page layout is messed up in chromium/google chrome

Tried to view site on chrome; looks fine to me. Tracker code looping is due to bad placement of the tracker code, will get it fixed. It is unlikely that I will go through the code and close all BR tags.

Not sure why its acting crazy on your machine. Is it a beta preview version of chrome? Is your system updated?

As far as images; their use is easily covered under US Fair Use doctrine.

Anyways thanks for pointing these things out. Al Gilman 19:14, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Give Warning

Don't block someone straight off. They require previous warning first (Pending on the severity of what they've done)

--Beta Wolf, An AQWorlds Wiki SysOp. | (Talk Page) 11:21, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

It may have been vandalism, or he may not have known that it WAS a house template. I've deleted the house template several times before, because people have entered things like "This is a house template" or otherwise. He may have some reason to it. Nevertheless, it wasn't continual vandalism (only happened on one page), thus a warning was in order, not a ban.

As I said, it depends on severity. Also, as previously said, many people have cleared the house template beforehand (including myself), and so it's hardly a crime that a new sys-op that hardly anyone knows about pops up and creates it (It may leave some members thinking that it's not supposed to be there). If you don't want the template messed with, then you should have protected it (seems to me as if this member isn't the only one at fault here). The short ban terms I mostly use if a member has been issued a second warning (usually a day or a week. I have no idea why we even have a two hour warning). You also need to take note that not all members are as mature as the sys-ops (meaning they wouldn't understands whats what, so you need to give them some leeway)

I don't know what other wiki's do, but I doubt they have as many kids as our wiki. Just take that into consideration.

Template:Member-Expand

Made a few tweaks, added the templates category label, and added the code onto the page. Don't know about the Member needed category, though.

You need an updated pic, by the way. --Jimmy 01:12, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Do not point out to me...

Which pages I should and shouldn't lock. I've been on this wiki alot longer than you, nd doing this alot longer. I had more than just one reason for locking it, and it hasn't been the first time that it's been locked by various sys-ops and even Al himself.

You have also accused me of keeping the beckket code off here for my own selfish reasons. This is NOT the case (I could care less if every single player had it). The mere fact that I have concludes that I think it may go rare. The reasons I have kept the code off the wiki is that AE staff has kindly asked that it not be posted (whether on their forum or not does not matter. I am taking their wishes into consideration and treating the code as unreleased content, which is NOT allowed on the wiki) --Beta Wolf, An AQWorlds Wiki SysOp. | (Talk Page) 13:21, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

In fact, time means everything. I understand how the wiki works, how it's functions work. I know it's members and motives. The members know who I am, and respect me.
As for experience, I've had so many years of experience in various area's (running game servers as GM, forum moderator and admin, wiki sys-op, various certifications in IT, etc)
Third, unreleased content has been unallowed for quite awhile now (Al himself banned it, and until he creates a section on the forums for it, unreleased info is unallowed). The beckket code falls under this as it was not officially released by staff in an announcement. If you also have a look at the code on the link you posted, you may notic that there are spaces in between it (leading me to the conclusion that it may have been blocked. The mods may not have noticed, but may if you chose to point this out to them)
Again, using the code is different from posting it. Captain Rhubarb stated that you were allowed to pass the code on ingame (as you would then be playing the game, which is the whole idea of the code), however, he kindly asked that it not be posted elsewhere (although he had no way to enforce this. This further points out the unreleased info, as it has not publicly been released by AE)
Until Al removes the restriction, or adds a spoiler area to the forums, any unreleased info, and the beckket code, shall be kept off the wiki.
How is an item everybody has a rare item? Because it may eventually be removed for good from the game, and at that point it will become rarer as people sell it off (as they usually do)
Further note: i wouldn't be "arguing" except it's been awhile since I had a good argument (or debate if you will), and I quite enjoy them. It takes the stress out of life.

Wwallace_

As i see , you are good , but everyone that visited the wiki when i was here , know , that i was the wiki , just me , almost all edits were made by me. When i was here there was no vandalism here, there was nothing wrong in the wiki , check the category page. Ask for old active editors , i was the wiki.
