Major AQworlds wiki bug EVER!

Al!!!! , there's a bug(i dont know if it's really a bug) ImageNeeded.png and ImageNeeded.jpg is taking all items! It's removing the correct image from the page. Imperial Knight

New AQWorlds Wiki

Posted in March 5 design notes: "AQW Wiki Encyclopedia Loretania I would like to cheer the amazing effort of Burn, Paperclip, Angelique, Stardot, Azami and Kitsukaru who are working on an AQW Wiki. It is getting close to completion (I saw a sneak peek) and wow... there are things in there that I did not even know were in game." Should we do anything about this? We have been around longer and adding to our database long before they even thought of making one. Prehaps we could work this out with Artix? Zakar

Actually Zaveno (Out of the ordinary, eh?), AE doesn't care about this wiki, and that one is controlled by AE. I for one think it's a good idea since this one has been vandalized and filled by hackers and their info. Not to mention it has no good rules. This wiki has been ruined, and now it faces the consequences. No way you can change Artix's mind. Realize it is not their choice of whether our wiki dies or not, it is the users. If users continue to add and contribute to this community both can flourish. Al Gilman 00:05, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Its over Al, an unofficial wiki is no match to the official one, they have the true info while we have hackers and vandalism, this wiki is over and until AE decides to make wikis of all their games you can still work on AQ's,DF's and specially MQ's wikipedias. Just accept it, this wiki is over, its full of hackers and as you know it, hacking is not allowed!!

I'm going to say what I think about this. I think we should continue even when AE make an official wiki.

I'll use 2 other wikis of the same subjects as examples. There are 2 Bionicle wikis, for instance. one of them has strong connections to the biggest Bionicle fansite on the internet, which has connections to The Lego Company. The other wiki, however, has got members from that fansite, but no actual connections with it. Both wikis continue to grow and have mostly the same content on. Even members from the other wikis help each other, despite their rivalry.

And what if the other wiki is offline for a day or two? The fans may need some information. That's where we could step in. We would have our information there ready for whoever needs it.

And as for the vandals and hacked content, do as you're doing and hire more Sysops.

I'm Kazar Sanaga from another AdventureQuest Worlds Wiki. I just found this site today and I'm blown away by how much more information this has compared to mine (although you seem to have a much larger active community). Anyway, with finding this and the news about AE making their own, I think I'm going to stop working on it. The problem with the official wiki is they have a rule about unreleased stuff. Let both Wikis continue, if your against hacked content or other unreleased info, at least you have choices which wiki you'd like better.

My Thoughts On the Death of this Wiki (OneWingedAngelOfDeath)

I think this is truly the best Wiki page for AQW and if this goes down, so will a large part of AQW. There would be a small riot with the 2000 people who come and look here attacking AE in about 5 minutes after the announcement would be made. I would be IN the riot. I see no reason for AQW to make ANOTHER Wiki for themselves, but they obviously do. By the way, no Staff-Only stuff can be posted on their site, but we can on here (just saying <.< >.>). Personally, I think AE has issues they need to work out, especially if they want to kill this site (They do anyway =D ).

AE DESPISES US! they hate that we know about the staff-only armors they dont like us finding out there secrets however now that these armors but there is NO excuse for hacking unhacked imgages can be found through taking images off staff or char pages and if ae doesnt like that thats to bad they are the ones showin off armors

Why can't this one co-exist with AE's wiki? Anyone with sense can see this one's better. We have more pictures and more information. (when rares where available, descriptions etc.) Even though it doesn't have AE endorsement, this wiki is the best source of info. - Womid

Me Not Impressed on the other Wiki's Editabilaty

Right i made an acount on the other wiki and..........it is the worst site ever for trying to add stuff praticly all the pages are only editable by members!! you have to spend mony just to edit the wiki so iv QUIT using it no offence to AE but its the worst place ever to edit stuff.

Hacked Content

Hay Al its Mr_White, i really don't think this is hacked content, but when ever they appear to release something, (i told u this by) email, Tomix's Character page shows him wearing the new items, so is it ok to post that, even though its not released yet nor is it a hack?

i see no problem

with showing unreleased items just as long as they are not hacked or taken from a hacking website if i mean the staff are the ones who keep showing off there items on there char page so i don't think its not to deprive people of seeing this however it is good to post up warnings.

Clans Pages; Necessary?

I know I haven't made many contributions to this Wiki, but I do know when I am looking to verify whether a picture has been submitted, or a page has been made, all I see under "Recent changes" are clan pages. And Clans are really helpful for people finding info on items. If you could make it so that all Clan pages got a special category, and you could make that category not show up in Recent changes, that'd be great. But, overall, I don't think Clan pages on this Wiki are necessary.

Class Guide

Hello, I am the writer of the class guide that is currently in the "guides" category, and spent a day or two poorly placed in the "classes" category(Zero Noisiv's Handy Guide to AQW Classes). I'm writing you to discuss the placement of my guide and guides in general and their place in this Wiki and it's UI.

As it is now, the "guides" category on the wiki has practically no exposure in the Wiki UI.

However, I think the idea of a guide such as mine, and other future content of the same type, can serve an important missing function of the AQW community: the organization of common strategy outside of rumor, gut impression, and mis-representational tool-tips. The amount of misinformation about the functions and abilities in game is astonishing.

For now, outside of adding the "guide" category to the navigation bar, there are few ways to help integrate them into the wiki's stricture.

I would like to ask you and the other admins if it would be prudent for me to create a page "Category:Class Guides" with the code "Category:Classes" and post the guide under this new sub-category, thus giving it at least an acceptable, yet still awkwardly arrogant, UI placement.

This is of course, not a black-and-white decision as to if it would benefit the wiki. And as such I find it necessary to ask you and the admins as to if you think this would be a positive direction to take, or rather the idea of an AQW guide is not compatible with your wiki.

I have been greatly distressed by AE's announcement but i belive i have found a loophole! Very few clans will meet AE's requirements so we should make a seperate wiki for aqw clans! If you go ahead with this i could be an hounarary sysop right? right...?

Mass Hysteria

It seems that AE's clan announcement has spooked everyone into thinking they'll get banned from the game if they don't move their clans. As I have already posted, this isn't so. They can't ban use for posting clans here, but they can disband/delete a clan if the clan is on the forums. Seems good, but it brings up further questions (This is really just me wondering), the forum being set up would have more than a clan section, wouldn't it? So there will be other forums (I read what you placed on deathknights talk)... again, wouldn't it be hard to moderate. Even though clan leaders would have to moderate their own forum, Sys-ops would still need to moderate these forums. Wouldn't it be easier to place every clan under one category of a main forum, and from there let clans have their own category (This is assuming that you allow categories for each section) and to give clan owners moderation powers over their own categories? Clan Rules Proposal

Clan Requirements of the Wiki:

• Must have 5 members
• Must remain active
• Names must not promote violence, inappropriate behavior, etc.
• Must not be made for the sake of having a clan.

Clans who don't follow these rules will be deleted.

From what iv seen when looking around the wiki lang ston has been messing up clans lots of them and being a real nusience we should do somthing about him.

Well if you look on Order of san carlos talk history find his edit he says he'll destroy chaos empire or somthing and history on dex's talk page see his edit there and hes not vandilising yet hes threataning he will.

since i learn about the clan thing i have wondered if they (Ae staff) missed something that we can use in our favor but i need to get the official announcement. please if someone can help me i will be very thankful.

Vandalism

My clans page has been vandalized. it has benn for a while but it was only changing the captions on pictures and although non kings editing the page is strictly against clan rules i turned a blind eye. However they have written bad language on our page and i want them punished. I belive the gangsters of chaos are responsible but im not sure. plz research. -- Salmonandafro - Fishmeister supreme!

i was wondering what punishments a clan could suffer if it vandalize or do anything too extremist to another clan?
