Clearing Your Cache Guide

Cache is RAM (Random Access Memory) that is set aside as a specialized buffer storage that is continually updated; used to optimize data transfers between system elements with different characteristics. It is perfectly safe to delete your cache, and very beneficial when you do in ways more than one. You may find problems with AQWorlds after game updates that are often fixed by deleting your cache, so it is advisable to do so after every release.

Below shows very simple instructions on how to empty your cache for various browsers.

Note-Also one Minor problem is when you clear your cache. If you have a time restriction on your computer on the day you clear your cache the restriction will not go off but should be back the next day

1) Open up an Internet Explorer window.

2) On the top of the window is your IE Menu Bar. The Menu Bar typically contains the tabs Files, View, Tools, (Etc). Click on “Tools.”

3) A list will appear. In that list, click on “Delete Browsing History…”

4) A small pop-up window will appear. Check-mark “Temporary Internet Files,” “Cookies,” and “History.” If you do not have any saved passwords or forms, you may imitate the screenshot.

5) Once you have finished checkmarking everything, click on “Delete.” Once you do, a small progress pop-up window will appear. Wait for it to disappear. The time this process takes may vary, depending on the last time you emptied your Internet Cache.

6) Once the progress bar has disappeared, close all IE windows and re-open a new one. Congratulations, you’re finished!

Note: Instructions for FF may vary depending on the service you downloaded your Firefox from. These instructions were gleaned from the Yahoo! Version.

1) Open up a Mozilla Firefox window.

2) On the top of the window is your Firefox Menu Bar. The Menu Bar typically contains the tabs Files, View, Tools, (Etc). Click on “Tools.”

3) A list will appear. In that list, click on “Clear Recent History…”

4) A small pop-up window will appear. Click on the arrow pointing down beside the word "Details." There will be a small scrolling option on the top right of the window - it should already be preset to "Last Hour." Click on the down arrow of the scrolling option then change it to "Everything." In the window itself, checkmark everything: "Browsing & Download History," "Search & Form History," "Cookies," "Cache," "Active Logins," and "Site Preferences." Basically, imitate the screenshot.

5) Once you have finished checkmarking everything, click on “Clear Now.” The pop-up window will vanish.

6) Close all Mozilla Firefox windows, then re-open a new one. Congratulations, you’re finished!

There are 2 options on how to Empty Your Cache for Safari Users. Both are shown below.

■ First Option (Quick, Not Thorough Way)

1) Open up a Safari window.

2) On the top of the window is your Safari Menu Bar. The Menu Bar typically contains the tabs Files, View, Tools, (Etc). Click on “Edit.”

3) A list will appear. In that list, click on “Empty Cache…”

4) A small pop-up window will appear. Click on “Empty.”

5) The small pop-up window will disappear. Congratulations, you’re finished! :)

■ Second Option (Longer, But Thorough)

1) Open up a Safari window.

2) On the top of the window is your Safari Menu Bar. The Menu Bar typically contains the tabs Files, View, Tools, (Etc). Click on “Edit.”

3) A list will appear. In that list, click on “Reset Safari…”

4) A small pop-up window will appear. Check-mark “Clear History,” “Empty the cache,” “Remove all cookies,” “Remove all website icons,” “Clear recent web searches,” and “Close all Safari windows.” If you do not have any saved passwords or forms, you may imitate the screenshot.

5) Once you have finished checkmarking everything, click on “Reset.”

6) The small pop-up window will disappear, and all Safari windows will simultaneously close. A single Safari window should open afterwards automatically. Congratulations, you’re done!

1) Open up a Google Chrome window.

2) On the top-right of the window, you will find an image of a wrench. Click it and select “Options.”

3) A window will appear. Select the tab labeled “Under the Hood,” then under Privacy, select “Clear browsing data…”

4) A pop-up window will appear. Checkmark “Empty the cache.” In the scroll-down menu beside “Clear data from this period:,” select “Everything.” If you do not have any saved passwords or form data, you may imitate the screenshot.

5) Once you have finished checkmarking everything, click on “Clear browsing data.” The pop-up window will vanish.

6) Close all Google Chrome windows, then re-open a new one. Congratulations, you’re finished!

2) On the top of the window is your Opera Menu Bar. The Menu Bar typically contains the tabs Files, View, Tools, (Etc). Click on “Tools.”

3) A scroll-down menu will appear; select “Delete Private Data.”

4) A pop-up window will appear. Click the down arrow beside “Detailed Options.” Checkmark “Clear entire cache.” If you do not have any saved passwords or form data, you may imitate the screenshot.

5) Once you have finished checkmarking everything, click on “Delete.” The pop-up window will vanish.

6) Close all Opera windows, then re-open a new one. Congratulations, you’re finished!
